JURIED STUDENT ART EXHIBITION

BEST IN SHOW: DRAWING
June Varkoly
"Mask: Red & Blue"
oil pastel on paper, 24 x 18 inches
Class: Drawing 2 (Summer 2020)
Instructor: Heejung Kim
A mask is a disposable item; I often see them discarded on the side of the street. Yet, a mask is also the difference between life and death. I wanted to show the beauty in the article which has become mundane to us now. To me, the mask is a symbol of how we can care for our health and the health of others. A message, especially vital here, in America.
